    A new TV drama which was filmed entirely in Yorkshire hits our screens next week. 

    The BBC's adaptation of the Moonstone starts on Monday, and if you're eagle-eyed, you should be able to spot several North Yorkshire locations too. 

    Based on a book by Wilkie Collins - best known for his novel The Woman In White - The Moonstone's described as the first ever detective novel. 

    The series stars John Thomson and Miranda star Sarah Hadland, while newcomer Joshua Silver plays Franklin Blake - one of the central characters - who says it's a fantastic story:

    I've been focusing on Selby this morning as it's 40 years ago this weekend that the Selby Coalfield complex officially opened.

    Initially, the complex brought thousands of miners to the area but the last pit closed more than a decade ago. 

    Officials in Selby say attracting new business investment to the district is a key priority for the future and people living in the town say they'd like more industry and jobs for the immediate area.

    York City will only survive in the National League if the squad can be overhauled, according to new manager Gary Mills.

    Mills (pictured) has brought in Birmingham City midfielder Charlie Cooper on a one-month loan this week and he released forward Fraser Murdoch.  

    Meanwhile, Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver says tomorrow's visit of promotion-chasing Darlington will be a "real test" for his injury-hit squad with another big crowd expected.

  7. Aftermath of A1 lorry crash caught on camerapublished at 07:23 British Summer Time 28 October 2016

    West Yorkshire Police's Road Policing Unit has tweeted this dramatic picture of the aftermath of a collision involving three lorries on the A1 southbound at Selby Fork in the early hours.

    Thankfully, no-one was seriously injured in the incident.

    Traffic in the area is said by North Yorkshire Police, external to be "all clear" now.

  8. Traffic and travel: Roads and rail running smoothly so farpublished at 07:13 British Summer Time 28 October 2016

    On the rails, there are currently no major delays reported on train services in and out of York Station, according to the live departure board, external.

    Meanwhile on North Yorkshire's roads, the A659 (Bridge Street) in Tadcaster remains closed for repairs, while one lane's closed on West Park Street (A61) in Harrogate.

    And a warning to drivers for later: this evening from 20:00 the A64 will be closed in both directions between Bramham and Kiddal Lane - as will the A65 at Hellifield.
