'Negative effect of past few years'
Sinn Fein's Martin McGuinness said that by the end of this count, his party would be "touching 30" MLAs.
"The people are charging both us and the DUP with prominent leadership positions in the next assembly," he says.
But he added that the results must be seen against the backdrop of the "very negative effects of the last two and a half or three years."
UUP councillor elected MLA
The Ulster Unionist Party's Harold McKee has been elected as an MLA in South Down. He had been working as an UUP councillor and working as a quarry manager but says he'll have to give that up,now he's an MLA.

Green Party 'carving niche for themselves'
Darwin Templeton from The Sunday Life says the Green Party are beginning to carve a "niche for themselves".
"Stephen Agnew has been a very effective flag bearer for the party," he says.

Green Party candidate Clare Bailey says it's "absolutely fantastic" that the party has trebled its vote on the 2011 Assembly election.
"We've worked really hard for it," she said.
