    Palmer - election is 'surreal'

    UUP MLA Jenny Palmer says the election of her and party colleague Robbie Butler was "surreal".

    "I had drawn a line under all the issues with the DUP when I left them," she said. 

    "I went out on the doorsteps as a UUP candidate and people put their faith in me. It's a bitter sweet moment."

    Beggs says it's been a 'long gruelling day'

    The Ulster Unionist Party's Roy Beggs who has been elected in East Antrim says it's been a "very long gruelling day".

    "I think anyone who would forecast the remaining seats in this constituency would be very foolish," he said.

    She says she's travelled 15,000 miles across Northern Ireland in the past weeks engaging with people.
