    Barry McElduff says that the cost of SEN provision "doesn't come cheap".

    He says the department has indicated that the annual coast of £250m has been rising "for the last few years by around £50m a year.

    Mr McElduff asks if the department is going to try to reduce the number of "statements" - the process by which pupils are granted SEN status.

    Mrs Gillan says "it is a huge challenge" and that the number of children with SEN is growing, but she adds that the department believes the new framework "is a step in the right direction".
