  7. EU debate: Is the economy strong enough?published at 20:09 British Summer Time 26 May 2016

    BBC One

    EU debate

The BBC's first live debate on the EU referendum is just getting under way in Glasgow. Host Victoria Derbyshire is fielding questions from young voters to Labour MP Alan Johnson and SNP MP and former Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond for 'Remain' - and Conservative MP Liam Fox and UKIP MEP Diane James for 'Leave'.

Some of the questioners introduce themselves - a third are undecided.

Joanna, from Leeds, says she is hoping to hear some "convincing arguments" to help her decide which way to vote.

First question is from a young man from Manchester who asks if the economy is strong enough to cope if the UK leaves the EU - and whether he will get a good job.

Liam Fox tells him it is - and he will if he works hard enough. He says he wants to ensure the UK uses its money to the best effect.

Alan Johnson tells him he will have a better chance of having a good job if Britain stays in the EU.

Hampshire Police have confirmed they are investigating two separate allegations of assault by Leave campaigners at Boris Johnson's rally in Winchester.

One of those who claims they were assaulted was local Lib Dem John Romero who described the attitude of Leave supporters as "an absolute disgrace, beyond belief".

He claims he was pushed two metres down steps of the historic Butter Cross monument as he tried to heckle Mr Johnson's speech.

Police have confirmed they are investigating a separate complaint from a Remain supporter dressed in a gorilla suit who claims he was elbowed in the ribs and punched in the face by a man who was screaming at him.

  19. Labour MPs debate immigrationpublished at 17:51 British Summer Time 26 May 2016

    BBC Radio 4

The PM programme has been talking about the latest migration figures with two Labour MPs on different sides of the EU referendum debate.

Gisela Stuart, who co-chairs the Vote Leave campaign, said even with the best political intention, "we cannot control our borders..the flow of migrants and the services that underpin them" while Britain is in the EU.

Remain campaigner Pat McFadden said there should be more talk about the benefits of immigration - and that most people came here to work and made a positive contribution.

  20. David Blunkett urges Brexit campaigners not to "mislead" publicpublished at 17:44 British Summer Time 26 May 2016

    David Blunkett

Labour former home secretary David Blunkett has waded into the EU immigration debate by stressing that the UK needs to grow its own engineers and skilled people, while at the same time welcoming "those from parts of Europe who can contribute to the development of our economy".

    Quote Message

The sensible attitude is yes let's get tough, let's understand people's fears, but don't mislead them into believing that if you left the EU you wouldn't have a major problem with illegal working, people coming into our economy without the skills and without the tax and National Insurance they are paying at the moment."
