    US pollster Frank Luntz observes that the UK election campaign is personality-centred at the moment, which suits Theresa May.  

    But he stresses she has "a responsibility to tell the British people what happens on day one, on day ten, on day one hundred" if she gets a bigger majority.  

    "Jeremy Corbyn reminds me of Michael Foot and the population wants to focus on the future not the past," he says.

    Brandon Lewis - a former housing minister - says the Tory pledge for a "new generation" of social housing is to be delivered over the course of the next parliament.

    He again refuses to give a fixed number on how many will be built, saying it's a matter of working with local authorities.

    He also defends the government's record on housing.

    "This is quite different to what we've been doing over the last few years," he said, before adding the level of house bulidng is up since they came to power  to 189,000 homes a year.

    "On housing we have delivered," he said, and then: "There's more to do and that's what this policy is all about."

    Brandon Lewis, the Conservative minister responsible for policing and the fire service, denies workers are worse off now, saying - due to a rise in the income tax threshold -  in real terms people have more money in their pocket.

    He also says 2.8m more people are working than when the Tories came to power in 2010.

    "We have seen millions of people coming out of paying tax whatsoever," he says.

    She doesn't see "a significant risk" of banks leaving the UK as "there's more to keep them here than to drive them away".

    Shadow business secretary Rebecca Long-Bailey won't discuss details of rail nationalisation as "we don't comment on leaks and our plans will be fully laid out in our manifesto on Tuesday".

    Regarding suggestions that Labour could nationalise the National Grid, she says there's "growing pressure to reform utilities sector". 

    She says public sector debt will be reduced by the end of the Parliament .

    Shadow chancellor John McDonnell denies Labour's tax policy is "anti-aspirational".

    For 95% there will be no tax increase under a Labour government, he said.

    For those earning £80,000 or more, the party would be announcing the cost in its manifesto to be released on Tuesday.

    "The issue for us is how we get our economy growing as we're falling back," he tells Pienaar.

    While our economy has grown, wages have remained static.

    "The problem we have is lack of investment in infrastructure... and lack of fair rewards for employees."

    Shadow chancellor John McDonnell refuses to say that Labour are facing the prospect of a landslide Tory victory, and points out that they have gained points in the polls, now standing at 32.

    He says the sudden calling of the election meant Labour started on the back foot, but they are now benefiting from the election campaign broadcast rules that mean "we get balanced cover".

    "The more we put our policies out there the more we get increases in the polls," he says.
