Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson has promised to strengthen the ties between the Scottish Parliament at Holyrood and Westminster "so our country works better for all".

"We want to send a strong team of Scottish Conservative MPs to Westminster, not to divide but to deliver for Scotland," she said.

During a campaign event in West Yorkshire, the prime minister said her party had "major plans" to introduce T-skills - new qualifications that will give students a technical alternative.

She said the emphasis in education should be on "what is right for you", with "a parity" between different types of qualifications "that we haven't seen in the past".

    Theresa May

Theresa May has told supporters in West Yorkshire that "every vote counts" in next week's general election and the Brexit negotiations.

"If I lose just six seats then my government loses its majority and that would risk putting Jeremy Corbyn into Number 10 Downing Street, John McDonnell in the Treasury, Diane Abbott in the Home Office - and the strings being pulled by the Liberal Democrats and Nicola Sturgeon."

She added: "If you give me your backing - I will deliver for Britain."

He said he lost the debate then, but added to cheers: "You can be very clear that any government I'm head of would not tolerate this kind of barbarity which is called sport in this country."

"I think it's an exciting offer and it's getting the most amazing traction - as much from older people as younger people," he said a little earlier.
