    Replying to Mr Corbyn, the PM said she understood why people felt strongly about their pay.

    Three pay review bodies had reported for NHS doctors, dentists, nurses and the Armed forces, and the government accepted the recommendations in all of these cases in March, she said.

    Firefighters are not subject to these pay review bodies, she said.

    Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn accuses the government of "flip flopping and floundering" over the public sector pay cap.

    He said reports yesterday suggested that firefighters would receive a 2% pay rise this year and 3% next year.

    "Can you confirm if the public sector pay cap will remain for all other public servants until 2020?" he asked the prime minister.

  15. Grenfell Tower inquiry chair launches consultationpublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 5 July 2017

    The retired Court of Appeal judge who will lead the inquiry into the Grenfell Tower fire has launched a consultation into the terms of reference the probe will cover.

    Anyone can submit written views online or in writing which will be considered by Sir Martin Moore-Bick before he makes a recommendation to the prime minister.

To do this, the inquiry will need to examine all relevant circumstances leading up to and surrounding the fire at Grenfell Tower, in order to understand its causes and prevent such a tragedy ever happening again."

    Conservative Sir Henry Bellingham raises reports that "students boasted about voting twice" in the election, which Cabinet Office Minister Chris Skidmore says is "completely unacceptable".

    Labour's John Spellar angrily objects, saying that this was one or two cases and to suggest otherwise is "out of the Trump playbook".

    He tells Sir Henry he should be "ashamed of himself".
