  1. 'I trust the Conservative members'published at 18:08 British Summer Time 11 June 2019

The MP now takes questions from the media. The first one concerns Mr Stewart's chances with the Conservative Party membership.

In reply, he goes on the attack against the contest frontrunner, Boris Johnson, asking whether he's "the man you want with his finger on the nuclear button".

"I trust the Conservative members to arrive at the correct answer," he replies.

  2. 'I'll walk through every county'published at 18:05 British Summer Time 11 June 2019

Rory Stewart concludes his speech by promising to be a leader who listens.

He pledges to walk through every county in the country if he becomes prime minister, "listening and walking, listening and walking" to ordinary people.

  4. Stewart poses question to civil servantspublished at 17:59 British Summer Time 11 June 2019

Rory Stewart says he wants every civil servant to have the question above their desk: "Would you be proud to put your mother, brother, or yourself, in this school, hospital or prison?"

Going on, he sets out plans to do more on prisons - his previous brief in government - to invite prison governors to his house to spend time "talking and walking" and coming up with ways to make things better - particularly to reduce violence.

  7. Stewart: Don't promise the undeliverablepublished at 17:53 British Summer Time 11 June 2019

Continuing, Rory Stewart says "changing the world" requires being true to "what the world is".

He says he does not believe in "promising what we cannot deliver" - and criticises some of the tax and spend pledges made in the race so far.

What is lacking in politics at the moment, he says is the "energy of shame" - the shame that drives change.

  16. Has Rory Stewart's campaign been effective?published at 17:28 British Summer Time 11 June 2019

    Vicki Young
    Chief Political Correspondent

Rory Stewart has achieved some cut-through to the general public with his campaign, but not necessarily with Conservative voters.

The problem for Mr Stewart is the first hurdle of the contest involves getting the backing of Conservative MPs.

Some feel he should have spent a little more time talking to them, but he has certainly shown something different in his campaign.

It is now Mark Harper's turn at the hustings.

He repeats his message that delivering Brexit on 31 October is not realistic.

"I think promising it and failing to do so would put rocket boosters under Nigel Farage and the Brexit Party, whereas what I want to do is destroy The Brexit Party," he tells his fellow MPs.

  20. Letwin backing 'difficult' for Govepublished at 17:11 British Summer Time 11 June 2019
