  1. Stewart votes - and considers the futurepublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 19 June 2019

Rory Stewart is casting his vote. He tells our colleague Jo things are on a "knife-edge" for him again. He says he thinks his support from Tuesday will hold up, but is worried about one voter in particular...

Asked about working for one of the other candidates if they become PM, he says the visions of Brexit they are all "trying to sell" are "not true", adding: "How could I then say 'I now stand squarely behind them?'"

  2. A musical interlude...published at 15:56 British Summer Time 19 June 2019

Online political editor for the Mirror tweets...

Tory MP Ken Clarke has cast his vote, according to the Mirror online political editor, and there was no frantic hunt for him this time.

Mr Clarke is backing Rory Stewart - who came fourth in the second ballot - and voted closer to the deadline in the previous ballots. He doesn't have a mobile phone so tracking him down proved tricky...

As we saw at PMQs earlier, there is now much discussion at Westminster about Theresa May's legacy, given she has only weeks left at No 10.

Today, a group of 36 Labour MPs have signed a letter to the PM asking her to increase funding for children's services as a "parting gift".

Also included among the signatories are Ian Austin - who quit Labour in February - and Angela Smith, who recently quit Change UK and now sits as an independent.

  8. Boris Johnson votes on his birthdaypublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 19 June 2019

Leadership frontrunner Boris Johnson has just voted.

Reporters in the corridor wished him a happy birthday.

    "Why thank you," he replies.

The Independent's sketch writer spotted him stop for a moment...

  9. Javid 'confident about new support'published at 15:25 British Summer Time 19 June 2019

Home Secretary Sajid Javid, who voted a little while ago, was asked where he expected to have gathered more support. So far those who backed eliminated candidate Dominic Raab seem to be shifting towards Boris Johnson.

"We'll see - I'll explain afterwards when I've won," he replied.

We mentioned a short time ago that Sajid Javid had stopped for a snap outside the voting room - well this might be the picture...

  12. Tory MP: There's no rubbish with Rorypublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 19 June 2019

    BBC News Channel

Tory MP Victoria Prentis is backing Rory Stewart for leadership.

She tells the BBC News Channel: "There's no rubbish with Rory - what you see is what you get."

She says she has been "impressed" with his "problem-solving approach" to tough political questions.

A "significant number" of the membership wants to "buy into what Rory represents", she argues, seeing him as "slightly fresher" and someone who listens to "real people".

  13. From blue to pale goldpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 19 June 2019

Crucial info from the corridor. Ballot papers today are a "pale gold" colour - yesterday's were blue. They presumably change daily to avoid any possibility of funny business.

Jo overhears Sajid Javid saying he's "quietly confident" after he emerges from the voting room.

Jeremy Hunt, on his way out of the voting room, was heard to say: "Always the optimist!"

Sajid Javid is the next contender to arrive, stopping outside in the corridor first for a photo with a gaggle of MPs.

  18. 'Superstitions' in the voting corridorpublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 19 June 2019

More from outside the voting room - the ballot itself, of course, is held behind closed doors.

Simon Hoare - who's backing Sajid Javid - has arrived and taken up the same seat on the benches outside Committee Room 14 that he’s taken throughout the leadership contest, telling a colleague: “I always take this seat at elections.”

The colleague replies: “Well, it’s worked well for you so far.”

Producer Jo says she asked him if it’s just because he’s a teller for Mr Javid or it's a superstition.

He answers: “Oh yes, absolutely it is [a superstition] - the first seat to the left of the door. I don’t know why - but I am also a teller."

Boris Johnson's team of tellers has also arrived in the corridor.

  19. Would Michael Gove's VAT plan help poorer people?published at 14:54 British Summer Time 19 June 2019

    Reality Check

Michael Gove saying: VAT is a tax that hits the poorest worst

VAT is a tax paid when things are bought and sold. Lower income households spend a greater share of their income on consumption each month than higher-income households do - the better off are more able to save - which means the less well-off would be expected to spend more of their money on VAT.

That problem is partly dealt with by charging no VAT on most food and drink, for example.

Mr Gove wants to replace VAT with a sales tax, which would make an administrative difference to companies selling things to each other, but would still mean consumers having to pay the same tax when they bought something.

It would not automatically be better for the poorest people unless he lowered the rate, but he could just as well do that to VAT.

You can read more about the candidates' tax plans here.

Away from the leadership race, MPs are this afternoon discussing the remaining stages of the bill to authorise the forthcoming restoration works in Parliament.

The refurbishment, due to cost £4bn, is estimated to be completed by the 2030s.

The legislation being debated today sets up an Olympics-style governance system for the project, which will see MPs and peers vacate the Palace of Westminster.

This afternoon, Labour are having another go at passing an amendment to ban the use of contractors on the project who have been involved in blacklisting workers for things such as union membership.

This was defeated at an earlier stage - you can read more about it here.
