    The chancellor said he would invest in new infrastructure and do more to give private investors confidence to invest alongside government.

    He said it "isn't good enough" that consumers stare at delayed signs on train platforms.

    "We'll settle for nothing less than an infrastructure revolution," he said after discussing new trains and buses as well as communications networks.
