    Continuing, Boris Johnson says a new Parliament will be able to ratify his new Brexit deal and bring an end to "dither and delay" in Westminster.

    He says Labour is now the "only one party running scared of an election".

    Independent MP Ken Clarke intervenes on the prime minister to say that Mr Johnson was "one of those who delayed Brexit in March by voting against the deal negotiated".

    Meanwhile, Roland Rudd - the chair of Open Britain, one of the five organisations in the People's Vote campaign - faces demands for his immediate resignation after a motion of no confidence against him passed by a margin of 40 to three.

    Staff at the People’s Vote campaign accused him of wrecking their fight against Boris Johnson’s Brexit plan at a crucial moment in the debate over our country’s future.

    They also declared no confidence in Patrick Heneghan, who Mr Rudd unilaterally appointed as acting CEO of the campaign on Sunday night.
