Labour’s Baroness Donaghy kicks off business by asking about the government support for women’s domestic and sexual violence services.

The charity Women's Aid has said that 23% of referrals to domestic violence refuges were declined on the grounds of lack of space. 

Home Office Minister Baroness Trafford replies that the government has pledged £80m of funding to support women's refuges, sexual violence centres and forced marriage units.

Defence questions are under way and the first is from Labour's Liz McInnes on improving standards in service family accommodation.

Defence Minister Mark Lancaster says accommodation "is at the heart" of the armed forces covenant.

The EU bill is expected to return to the House of Lords at approximately 7pm tonight. 

Whilst waiting for that, peers will busy themselves with the Higher Education and Research Bill.

The bill has so far had a difficult passage through the Lords and a number of votes (and possible government defeats) are expected today.

There will also be a short debate on tropical diseases.

First, however there will be the usual 30 minutes of questions to the government with topics including domestic violence services and drug imports.

MPs kick off the day with defence questions, followed by a ten minute rule bill on access to terminations.

Then comes the main event, when MPs will be asked to consider Lords' amendments to the EU (Notification of Withdrawal) Bill.

The Lords inflicted two defeats on the government - one on a commitment to protect EU citizens' rights, and one on parliamentary approval for the final negotiated Brexit deal. 

It's expected MPs will overturn both amendments, and the bill will go back to the Lords in a bit of parliamentary process called "ping pong". 

Then, in case you hadn't had enough Brexit for one day, the adjournment debate is on the effect of the UK leaving the EU on poultry producers.
