    Reality Check

What exactly will MPs be voting on later today?

Our colleague Chris Morris, from BBC Reality Check, has been stoically going through the 599-page draft Brexit withdrawal agreement.

He's pulled out the key points from the agreement and worked out what they mean, from money, to citizens' rights and, possibly most critically, the backstop.

  4. Gyimah: 'Insoluble problem' at heart of dealpublished at 10:40 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2019

    Victoria Derbyshire

    Sam Gyimah

When asked whether he will vote for the deal tonight, Conservative MP Sam Gyimah replies: "I don't think so".

The former science and universities minister resigned over the Brexit in December, calling the agreement a "deal in name only".

He says the backstop exists because of an "insoluble problem" between wanting to take back control of borders but not wanting "the other side" to have a border in Northern Ireland.

"The idea that we can solve a problem that hasn't been solved in two years in future I think is frankly not going to happen."

Practising barristers David Anderson, Jason Coppel QC and Sean Aughey share their legal opinion for the People's Vote campaign on the Brexit measures.

They say the measures do not allow the UK to terminate the backstop if negotiations are not satisfactorily concluded, nor do they provide the UK with a right to terminate the backstop at a time of its choosing.

  19. Shadow Brexit minister: Government will get 'same answer' from MPspublished at 09:46 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2019

    BBC News Channel

    Jenny Chapman

Shadow Brexit minister Jenny Chapman says MPs have "not even had 24 hours" to consider the new documents negotiated by the government.

Nevertheless, she says Labour does not believe the new deal is "particularly different from that which we voted on previously".

She predicts that the government will get the "same answer" from MPs tonight as when they rejected the deal at a vote in January.

She confirms that Labour will be instructing its MPs to vote against it tonight.
