    Amendment after amendment has been tabled without MPs being able to say what they do want, Theresa May says.

    The prime minister urges MPs to back her deal.

    "I am not prepared to delay Brexit any further than 30 June," Theresa May says.

    The prime minister notes that some people say she is making the wrong choice in ruling out a longer extension of Article 50, the law by which the UK leaves the EU.

    But she says taking part in European elections would be "bitterly divisive".

    Theresa May says nearly three years have passed since the public voted to leave.

    "I came to office on a promise to deliver the result of the referendum," she says.

    Two years on, MPs have been unable to implement this result, she says, and "as a result we will not be able to leave on time".
