    Dafydd Elis-Thomas, Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism, responds to the report on behalf of the government.

    Two related recommendations are rejected, that the Welsh Government "should provide appropriate funding to support film festivals in Wales via a dedicated funding stream", and that they "should publish set criteria for the outcomes they are supporting when providing funding for film festivals".

    The Welsh Government says it will investigate the feasibility of funding support for film festivals in Wales.

    Committee chair Bethan Sayed (South Wales West), external presents the report, which has 17 recommendations.

    Recommendation 1 is that "the Welsh Government should publish a strategy which sets out their vision of how Wales’ screen industry can:

    ▪ be financially secure;

    ▪ develop small businesses to take advantage of larger scale productions;

    ▪ attract productions with a range of values and cultural diversity;

    ▪ support Welsh language and other distinctly Welsh productions with a view to increasing the visibility of Welsh language and culture on the international stage;

    ▪ take responsibility for identifying and mitigating skills gaps through formal and informal learning; and how work and learning opportunities will be promoted to ensure they can be accessed by a diverse talent pool."

    Rhondda AM Leanne Wood pays tribute to "one of the Rhondda's most famous sons", actor Glyn Houston who has died aged 93 after a career spanning six decades.

    Rhondda-born Houston, who rose to fame in the 1950s, played Joan Collins' lover in one of her earliest appearances, in Turn The Key Softly.

    The younger brother of fellow actor Donald, he also worked alongside Clark Gable, Alan Ladd and Lana Turner.

    Alun Davies, Labour AM for Blaenau Gwent, asks for a statement on the devolution review announced last week by the Prime Minister.

    Jeremy Miles responds that "aspects of the Dunlop review can be welcomed... however there are fundamental questions about the devolution settlement and the role of territorial offices that are beyond the scope of the review".

    Prime Minister Theresa May stressed the importance of the Union in a speech in Scotland.

    Addressing an audience in Stirling, she announced a review into how UK departments deal with devolution.

    Whether the Wales Office - which has limited powers - should have a stronger role in setting UK government policy on Wales is expected to be on its agenda.

    Plaid Cymru's Delyth Jewell says Jeremy Corbyn's latest position on a new EU referendum means that "Jeremy Corbyn's feet have become entangled and he is now in a metaphorical confused heap on the floor".

    She asks what actions the Welsh Government could take if the UK government wanted to plough on against its wishes when it comes to the impact of future international trade deals on devolved issues.

    Ken Skates tells the Brexit Party's David Rowlands that he is "really excited by the potential of Trawsfynydd as an area that can be used to develop and support small modular reactors".

    The former Trawsfynydd nuclear plant site in Gwynedd has been undergoing decommissioning since it ended generation in 1991.

    Originally, the power station was due to be left in a state of "care and repair" by 2030 and finally cleared entirely by the 2090s.

    Conservative Russell George cites deputy economy minister Lee Waters's admission that the Welsh Government has "pretended we know what we're doing on the economy" for 20 years.

    Ken Skates says "whilst we have had enormous success in many regards in terms of economic development since devolution, the fruits of growth have not been felt fairly across all parts of Wales".

    Questioned further by Rhun ap Iorwerth on the Afan Valley project, Ken Skates says "I do support the transformational potential of the scheme but I do not support those people who have been shown in recent weeks a need to answer very serious questions".

    An ITV News, external/Guardian, external investigation had raised concerns about the financing of other projects linked to the firm.

    Mr Skates appeared in Afan Valley promotional material, but says: "Of course I would prefer the video to be taken down. There is no doubt about that." There should be no suggestion that he or the Welsh Government back the company, he says.
