    According to the GPS tracker, the baton is in transit, taking the A970 to Lerwick.

    We are hoping for a a stonger signal and the return of the live video feed in Lerwick. The baton relay will continue around Shetland's largest town and finish at an evening celebration at Clickimin Athletics Track.

    Claire Morris, another of the Brae baton bearers, is a keen netball player and is a member of the Scottish Universities squad.

    She volunteers for Edinburgh's Steady Steps Scheme, which caters for people who have had, or are at risk of having a fall.

    More than 60 school children were expected to travel from Unst, the most northerly island in Shetland, to join the relay in the village of Brae.

    It is a two-ferry journey to the Shetland mainland from Unst.

    We're not sure which island these youngsters are from, but they certainly seem to be getting into the Commonwealth relay spirit.

    It's a beautiful day in Shetland today. It's also a very long one. The islands, with their more northerly latitude than mainland Britain, will experience a whopping 19 hours of daylight today and only about 90 minutes of complete darkness.

    The baton has arrived in Brae!

    It was taken by lifeboat from Aith, passing the islands of Papa Little and Linga.

    Once again, the mobile signal is giving us patchy coverage, but from what we can see there was a very noisy welcome for the baton and the baton bearers in the relay's most northerly destination.

    Apologies once again for the problems we're experiencing with the live pictures of today's action.

    The video is relayed using multiple mobile phone lines and it can break up in areas with poor network coverage.

    As soon as the signal improves we'll have the Queen's Baton Relay video stream back up again.

    Today isn't the first time that Clyde has been in the Shetland Islands. In February the Games mascot paid a visit to Aith Junior High School.

    He popped into the nursery and primary classrooms before meeting some Young Ambassadors from secondary three. The school was presented with a "Game On Scotland, external" plaque.

    When he struggled to find a badminton club nearby, Danny decided to set one up. Now in its second year, the club welcomes all ages and abilities, and its members range from teenagers to pensioners.

    Matthew likes to keep himself busy. He manages the UK's most northerly leisure centre and is a retained firefighter. On top of that, he coaches a swimming club, and has also helped many novice runners complete their first 10k.

    Swimmer Elaine has competed at both national and international levels. She has "tirelessly devoted her spare time" to develop two successful swimming clubs in Shetland.

    The islands' rural communities have benefitted greatly from Elaine's dedication to sport and young people, according to the people who nominated her.

    Inga, who is in involved in community groups and sport, is described as "a shining example to others".

    The nursery nurse and mum of four actively encourages others to take part in sport and has also helped run the local Sunday school, toddler group and Girls Brigade.
