The company said customers across Perthshire and parts of Stirlingshire were the worst affected.
A spokesman said they expected supplies to be reconnected by later this afternoon.

Road maintenance company BEAR Scotland said they were continuing to monitor road conditions to ensure they could react to the changing weather.

A spokeswoman said that conditions continued to be challenging on the M80, M90 and A9.
She added: "We are targeting resources in these areas and will work until all routes are clear."
The M80 has re-opened in both directions after heavy snowfall led to its earlier closure.

Elsewhere, about 2in of snow also fell at Tulloch Bridge in the Highlands, while 0.8in (2cm) fell at Strathallan Airfield in Perthshire.

Met Office spokesman Ollie Claydon said: "Snow has been causing quite a bit of disruption on the roads - South-east Scotland up to Edinburgh is expected to be the worst hit.
"The snow is likely to persist for a while with the warning in place until 6pm."
Mr Claydon said that as the weather storm system moved off to the east, there would be clear skies this evening leading to warnings about ice from 18:00 until 09:00 on Friday.

The power company said the issue was also affecting customers in Milnathort.
It said engeers were on site and that it expected power to be restored by this afternoon.

The ferry company, external said services from Oban and Ardrossan were liable to change because of Storm Doris.
Elsewhere, the snow gates have been closed in both directions on the Banchory to Fettercairn route.
Travellers are advised to check information before they embark on their journey.

Update: Grit lorry driver uninjured after crashing off the road in Stirlingshirepublished at 11:47 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2017
Police Scotland said the Stirling Council gritter came off the road while travelling between Balfron and Balfron Station on the A875 and came to rest on its side in a field.
The local authority has sent a lorry to recover the truck.

A number of schools across Aberdeenshire have been affected by bad weather from Storm Doris.
Snowfall and heavy winds are expected across the UK, including parts of the North East, external.
