Summary

  • The first minister leads the daily coronavirus briefing after the first weekend of new restrictions were brought in

    Breaking

    Nicola Sturgeon confirms a further 961 people have tested positive for Covid-19, 17.1% of those newly tested yesterday.

    This takes the total number of positive cases in Scotland to 39,959.

    Health board breakdown:

    The first minister says the provisional data indicates the breakdown of new cases is as follows:

    • NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde: 359
    • NHS Lanarkshire: 244
    • NHS Lothian: 112
    • NHS Ayrshire and Arran: 88

    The remaining are spread across eight other health boards.

    Nicola Sturgeon will lead the Scottish government's daily coronavirus briefing from 12.15pm. Today the first minister is joined by Health Secretary Jeane Freeman and Interim Chief Medical Officer Dr Gregor Smith.
