    601 patients are in hospital with a confirmed case (up 31), with 51 being treated in intensive care (up two).

    A further 13 people who tested positive have died, taking the total to 2,585 deaths in Scotland by that measure.

    Nicola Sturgeon begins her virtual statement saying the latest review of restrictions is due tomorrow.

    The first minister confirms a further 1,351 people have tested positive for Covid-19, 17.6% of those newly tested yesterday.

    This takes the total number of positive cases in Scotland to 44.036.

    Health board breakdown:

    Ms Sturgeon says the provisional data indicates the breakdown of new cases is as follows:

    • NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde: 450
    • NHS Lanarkshire: 374
    • NHS Lothian: 161
    • NHS Ayrshire and Arran: 111

    The remaining cases are spread across all of the other mainland health boards.

    Travel restrictions around Scotland and from other parts of the UK are "always in the mix", the Scottish health secretary has said.

    Jeane Freeman said the "importation" of Covid-19 from one part of the country to another was always a risk.

    The Welsh first minister is set to announce a ban on people living in parts of the UK with high rates of Covid-19 from travelling into Wales.

    Scotland's first minister Nicola Sturgeon "fully supports" the measure.

    Nicola Sturgeon has warned that she is "very unlikely" to ease the ban on household visits in Scotland ahead of a review of Covid-19 restrictions.

    The first minister is to update MSPs on measures to control the pandemic, which have to be reviewed every three weeks.

    However she has already said the rules barring households from gathering indoors are not likely to change.

    Ms Sturgeon is expected to provide further detail about tighter rules around the wearing of face coverings.
