  2. Topical question on discharge of patients with Covid to care homespublished at 14:14 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2020

Labour MSP Neil Findlay raises concerns about the discharging of patients to care homes without two negative tests, during topical questions.

The two test policy was introduced in April, but the health secretary has confirmed such discharges are still allowed.

Jeane Freeman said it was "right and proper" that clinicians had the final say in exceptional cases.

The health secretary today says the length of time people cannot visit a care home where a Covid case has been identified is being looked at.

The coronavirus pandemic has cost Scottish spectator sport in excess of £100 million so far, with that figure rising by the day.

BBC Scotland understands those are the numbers put forward to the Scottish government by Sportscotland who have been told by a number of organisations that money is needed now to help safeguard jobs and stop some clubs going under.

Scottish football alone say the impact, to date, for the national game has been £70 million and could rise to £100 million.

Rugby and horse racing say they are also losing millions of pounds due to the pandemic.

The Scottish government is working on a funding package similar to the emergency sport package announced by Westminster, for English sport, last week.

Scotland's local Covid-19 alert levels are due to be reviewed, although First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has said she does not expect "much, if any, change".

Where each local authority area sits in the five-level system is reviewed every Tuesday ahead of an update at Holyrood.

No areas are expected to be moved up a level, with 11 central belt councils to remain in level four until 11 December.

Ms Sturgeon said the "overwhelming majority" of areas were likely to remain at their current level.

East Lothian moved down to level two at 06:00 on Tuesday, but Midlothian is to be held at level three due to concerns about a rise in cases in recent days.
