Millions of pounds worth of Scottish seafood is among the produce stuck in the queues at Dover.

Jimmy Buchan, chief executive of the Scottish Seafood Association, tells Radio Scotland some of the seafood has found its way across the channel but there is still a huge concern until this curfew is lifted.

There is more concern about live products like shellfish and it must be tended by a skilled person, he says, and calls for a speedy resolution to this issue to get perishable goods moving as quickly as possible.

The Christmas week is the biggest of the year in terms of seafood sales, says Mr Buchanan, and there was a rough estimate that £5m worth of stock was stuck on the motorway.

Drivers are wanting home for Christmas and this curfew came without warning, he says.
