    The deputy first minister says there has been a "slight dip in supply" of vaccinations but it is expected during the second half of March and April the pace of vaccinations will accelerate significantly.

    "We are therefore on track to offer a first dose of the vaccine by the middle of April to all over 50 year olds, all unpaid carers and all adults with a particular underlying health conditions."

  3. Latest Covid statistics: 501 new casespublished at 12:26 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March 2021

    Deputy first minister John Swinney begins with a breakdown of the latest statistics. He says that:

    • 501 new cases of Covid have been reported.
    • 5% of tests carried out were positive
    • There has been one new reported death of people who have tested positive for Covid in the past 28 days - numbers are generally lower at weekends because register offices are closed.
    • 1,774,659 (up 14,909 on Saturday) people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 118,732 people (Up 2,802 on Saturday) have received their second dose

    Police officers were assaulted as crowds of fans gathered in Glasgow to celebrate Rangers winning the Scottish Premiership.

    Large numbers of supporters went to Ibrox Stadium and George Square on Sunday to mark the achievement despite warnings to stay at home.

    Nicola Sturgeon said the crowds were "infuriating and disgraceful" and could delay the end of the Covid lockdown.

    Police Scotland said officers made 28 arrests for a variety of offences.
