The Scottish government was warned that a "third wave" of the Covid pandemic is now taking a grip in Scotland.
But the first minister says there is evidence that the link between cases and serious illness and death "appears to be weakening".
One marker that wil strengthen the evidence that the vaccination programme is working as intended is if the number of Covid deaths in June remains relatively flat, or shows just a modest rise.
