Lib Dem MSP Alex Cole-Hamilton raises a topical question on the Euro 2020 events in Glasgow and asks for an update on preparations, including for the fan zone on Glasgow Green.

Health Secretary Humza Yousaf says he is working closely with other agencies, including the council and police.

He says the virus situation will be continually reviewed in the lead-up to the event and he "understands concerns" and says the proposal is not prioritising football over other priorities.

Mr Yousaf says clinical advice has been taken and says it is an outdoor, highly-regulated space with a normal capacity of 80,000 people.

He says measures will be in place and that efforts are being made to encourage the use of lateral flow tests.

He says any changes considered necessary will be made, including withdrawing permission right up until the event.

On Monday, the decision to create a Euro 2020 fan zone in Glasgow amid rising Covid cases was described as an "absolute slap" to the hospitality sector.

The Scottish government has reacted to criticism from owners of firms in the soft play sector which are still unable to reopen.

Every centre in Scotland was closed at the start of the first lockdown in March 2020, amid concerns about the spread of Covid-19.

Some have reopened as parts of Scotland moved down to level one restrictions.

But many remain closed, with the industry warning the sector will be "no more" if trading does not resume soon.

Owners are threatening legal action if the government does not publish scientific evidence that soft plays are unsafe to open.

The Scottish government has said that, "as with all infection prevention measures", the restrictions will only be in place "as long as is necessary".

The decision to create a Euro 2020 fan zone in Glasgow amid rising Covid cases has been described as an "absolute slap" to the hospitality sector.

The city only moved to level two on Saturday after enduring some of the strictest restrictions in the country for almost nine months.

But a trade body fears mass gatherings of up to 6,000 fans a day could lead to a return to level three.

The Scottish government said the fan zone plan was still being reviewed.

Nicola Sturgeon will shortly address the issue during her update on the pandemic.

It will also be raised in topical questions which precedes the first minister's statement.
