Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross raised reports that the European Union would insist on an independent Scotland committing to adopting the euro if it wanted to join
Mr Ross said it showed that Scotland would be refused entry to the EU if it was to become independent
The first minister said many countries in the EU still use their own currency
The SNP's policy is to keep the pound in the years after independence before introducing a separate Scottish currency "when the time is right"
Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar said Scotland's hospitals are already in crisis ahead of winter with 4,069 people waiting more than 24 hours for A+E treatment in the last year
Ms Sturgeon admitted the situation was "very challenging" but said there has been progress in reducing waiting times
