    The economy secretary says London is very important to Scotland and he says the vast majority of inward investement comes there.

    Economy Secretary Keith Brown says with 4.7% of unemployment in Scotland, there will be variations across the country.

    Mr Brown says industry must get more involved in developing the skills of the workforce.

    He says Brexit poses a substantial risk.

    Scottish Conservative MSP Dean Lockhart says there are 70,000 young people in Scotland not in employment, education or training.

    Mr Lockhart asks if there are processes that could be put in place where some of these 70,000 people may be re-trained to cover the gaps left by EU nationals.

    Mr Russell says he does not think it would be possible to re-train people to the level, skill and experience of some of those being lost.

    Mr Russell says the Scottish government will continue to press for a full and unfettered access to the single market.

    The Brexit minister says if Scotland does not have workers from the EU it will be damaging, but the UK government's comments on this are not encouraging.

    SNP MSP Gillian Martin asks how the Scottish government is responding to the potential of not having access to the EU labour market.

    Economy Secretary Keith Brown says many companies rely greatly on the EU labour market and in some sectors we are extremely reliant on EU nationals.

    Brexit Minister Mike Russell says tourism, digital, financial, food and drink and health sectors all rely on EU workers so access to the EU labour market will have a "major impact". 

    Mr Russell says there will be not access to the EEA or EFTA without agreeing to free movement of people and there is no indication the UK government intend to accept this.

    SNP MSP Ash Denham says the UK economy has been affected by a drop in sterling and this has had an impact on Scottish housing.

    She asks if the Scottish government have any information on that.

    Economy Secretary Keith Brown says the government is aware of it and some companies have seen negative impacts and some positive impacts. 

    Gary Gillespie from the Scottish government says we haven't had the Brexit-shock as yet and the uncertainty around prices is having an impact on future investment.

    Ms Denham says poorer families, who are spending more of food an energy, will have less disposable income and spend less on other things which will effect the economy.

    Mr Brown says agrees that working families could have less disposable income.

    Mr Russell says the EU is adopting a harder line with the UK, as it gets fed up with waiting for the UK position to be made clear.

    The Brexit minister says they think Boris Johnson's comments are "intellectually incoherent" and he agrees with it.

    He says nothing is impossible as we move forward.

    Tory MSP Dean Lockhart asks which would he prioritise between full access the UK single market or full access to the EU single market.

    Mr Russell says that is not a real question and he says the Scottish government is working with other government's very closely and says he will not be drawn on false questions.
