  1. Minister seeks guarantee for EU nationals to staypublished at 09:11 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2016

    Europe Minister Alasdair Allan urged the UK Immigration Minister to urgently guarantee the status of Scotland's fellow EU nationals in a meeting in London yesterday. 

    Dr Allan was expected to say we should not lose sight of the personal impact the continued uncertainty will be having on the 181,000 EU nationals from other European countries who currently call Scotland home.

    He wanted an immediate guarantee that they are allowed to remain in Scotland regardless of the UK's future relationship with Europe. 

     It was the first bilateral meeting a UK Immigration Minister has agreed to have with a Scottish government minister for more than five years.
