Ms Baillie says there is expected to be 13,000 jobs in total at Faslane, not 600 as the report says.

    Mr HepburnImage source, bbc

Mr Hepburn says he will readily make Scottish government proposals public as Tory amendment calls for.

The employability minister says there has been no consultation from the DWP about their proposals.

He concludes saying he commits to visiting any community affected by these proposals if MSPs invite him to do so.

The minister says the reality is this will increase sanctions and he calls on all MSPs, including Ruth Davidson who may see the loss of a job centre in her constituency, to back the government motion.

Employability Minister Jamie Hepburn says this has been an opportunity for "most of us" to lay out the concerns about the job centre closure proposals.

Mr Hepburn says he agrees it was sensible that it was sensible for the DWP to review its estate.

He says the leases coming to an end is not an argument for the DWP to close job centres and leave communities.

Green MSP Ross Greer saysin the Scottish Affairs Committee a Tory member has said the DWP should start again with the process.

The Scottish Affairs Committee held a one off session on planned closures to Jobcentre Plus offices in Scotland where Damian Hinds, Minister of State for Employment, was among those giving evidence.

Labour MSP Pauline McNeill says she is genuinely interested in Ms Wells proposals but says a satellite arrangement won't help people sign on every two weeks.

Mr Lockhart says that is where a two way consultation would come in, but these matters can be discussed.

The Tory MSP says the job centre network is under-utilised by up to 40% in some cases.

He says more than 80% of JSA claims are submitted online.

Mr Lockhart says this plan will save the DWP money and it is not just about floor space.
