    Ms Dugdale says there is a big problem with IT in Scotland's NHS and primary care does not talk quickly enough to secondary care.

    The Labour MSP says "surely in this day and age, both IT systems should be able to speak to one another".

    Ms Dugdale uses a quote from The Times which says disabled people are forced to be superhuman because of the inaccessibility of society.

    She says the challenge is for the Scottish Parliament to change this.

    Ms Dugdale says she paid tribute to Mr Aikman at his memorial service and she will instead use this time to talk about MND and what more can be done.

    She says that's what Gordon would want, having the whole Parliament at his disposal.

    The health secretary confirms that when the powers for disability benefts comes to Scotland she will make sure there is a fast track to get benefits to those with a terminal illness.

    She concludes praising the tireless, selfless actions of Gordon and says the government will continue to strive to make MND patient's lives better and keeping Gordon's family informed.

    The health secretary announces that the government have launched a scholarship programme in memory of Gordon.

    She says the Gordon Aikman Scholarship scheme will involve MND research and will be a fitting tribute to Gordon's memory.

    Gordon Aikman was diagnosed with MND at the age of 29, and raised funds for research into the degenerative condition.

    Health Secretary Shona Robison offers her condolences to Gordon's husband Joe and to his family and friends.

    Ms Robison says many MSPs attended the memorial service for Gordon.

    She says Gordon worked in the parliament as a researcher in the Scottish Parliament and was quickly respected on all sides of the political divide.

    He earned the nickname Mr 14% for all the queries he put to the government.

    Funeral tributes to "true hero" Gordon Aikman

    The funeral of prominent motor neurone disease (MND) campaigner Gordon Aikman has heard him described as a true hero.

    Mr Aikman, who raised more than £500,000 with his "Gordon's Fightback, external" campaign, died aged 31 on 3 February.

    Politicians including Nicola Sturgeon, Kezia Dugdale and Alistair Darling joined Mr Aikman's husband Joe Pike for the service in Edinburgh.

    Celebrant Caroline Lambie, who also married the couple, told mourners "there was no-one like Gordon".
