    Labour MSP Johann Lamont says the week aims to increase knowledge, awareness and understanding of Down's syndrome.

    She says it is important to promote the rights and inclusion of people with Down's syndrome.

    The Labour MSP highlights the employment gap between able and disabled people, including those with Down's.

    Having Down's can result in discrimination and negative presumptions from employers, she notes.

    People with Down's must be acknowledged as a person first and foremost because Down's syndrome is only a part of a person, Ms Lamont states.

    Ms Lamont says negative sterotypes around Down's Syndrome must be challenged.

    A five-year-old girl's video raising awareness of Down's syndrome has been watched almost 10 million times on Facebook and does just that!

    The video of Chloe Lennon was filmed by her mum Jade to promote worldwide awareness day, externalon 21 March.

    Jade, from Irvine in Ayrshire, said Chloe was changing perceptions of children with the condition.

    She said she had been contacted by people from around the world "inspired" by the five-year-old's video.

    Jade told BBC Scotland the "positive" reaction to Chloe's video had been "overwhelming".

    Almost £15m of a £52m pot of funding set aside to tackle the attainment gap has not been spent due to teacher recruitment issues, the Telegraph reported last week, external.

    An evaluation commissioned by the Scottish government concludes that while the fund has laid "strong and solid foundations" for improving attainment, some councils warned that a lack of teaching staff had slowed progress.

    Of the £750m Attainment Scotland Fund, £52m was meant to have been spent during its first two years.

    However, local authorities spent roughly half of the £11.7m set aside in 2015-16 and around three-quarters of the £32.5m allocated in 2016-17.

    The UK government must take action on Scottish shell companies used to facilitate organised crime and money laundering, Prime Minister Theresa May has been urged.

    According to the Scotsman, external, SNP Westminster leader Ian Blackford said Scottish Limited Partnerships (SLPs) cannot be ignored as scrutiny of wealthy Russians sheltering their assets it the UK increases.

    The legal status of SLPs mean they can be protected from scrutiny despite claims that they are being used for money laundering, organised crime and tax evsaion.

    The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy announced a review of SLPs in January 2017.

    The first minister agrees it is important to prevent SLPs being used for criminal purposes.

    She welcomes the prime minister's commitment to engage on the issue but says it has been over a year since the issue was first raised.

    The first minister has written to the prime minister urging for law reform, it is confirmed.

    Mr McMillan seeks a commitment from the first minister to continually raise the matter with the prime minister in order to protect Scotland's business reputations.

    Ms Sturgeon accepts this and praises her SNP colleagues at Westminster for keeping the issue in the public eye.

    Fishing opportunities will continue to be negotiated by the EU during a two-year transition period under the latest draft agreement on Brexit.

    The industry had expected the UK to withdraw from the Common Fisheries Policy on the day of leaving the EU.

    But the UK government has now agreed to be "consulted" on arrangements with the EU continuing to set quotas.

    The Scottish Fishermen's Federation said it falls "far short of an acceptable deal".

    SNP MSP Stewart Stevenson raise the issue of the "very real anger" in fishing communities over the Common Fisheries Policy transition period after Brexit.

    Mr Stevenson says Ruth Davidson had promised that the CFP would not apply after Brexit.
