    Mr Russell confirms Immigration Minister Ben Macpherson met with former UK counterpart Caroline Nokes on 23 July, but newer UK ministers since then have not resumed these meetings.

    A new paper on a tailored migration policy for Scotland will be published next year, he confirms.

    Scotland is not full up and we need the contribution of others to our society, and we also have a moral duty to welcome those fleeing persecution, he adds.

    Scotland's deaths could outweigh births over the next 25 years - sparking calls for increased inward migration.

    The National Records of Scotland has released its latest projections which predict the working age population is set to fall by 7,000 and life expectancy is projected to increase.

    Constitutional Affairs Secretary Mike Russell says the Scottish government will, by necessity, have to work with the next UK administration of any complexion to ensure Scotland's interests are protected.

    Mr Fraser says its clear Jeremy Corbyn and Nicola Sturgeon are ready and waiting to make a deal if the chance arises.

    He asks if the Scottish government will make the granting of Section 30 order a red line in negotiations with Labour.

    Mr Russell says the Scottish people should have the right to choose their own future.

    As SNP Colin Beattie tries to ask an electioneering question, Deputy Presiding Officer Christine Grahame stops him saying "we are not on the stump".

    In an interview with the BBC's Andrew Marr, Nicola Sturgeon has said the SNP would support a minority Labour government, with certain conditions.

    The party leader and first minister of Scotland said that her first priority would be to stop Boris Johnson winning a majority in the general election.

    Justice Secretary Humza Yousaf says sexual activity of any kind without consent is criminal and the courts have held a person cannot consent to anything which results in injury.

    We keep criminal law under review and will consider proposals to improve it in this area.

    Ms Baker asks about the use of "rough sex" as a defence and Mr Yousaf offers to write to the member with further details.

    Violence during consensual sex has become normalised, campaigners have warned.

    It comes after more than a third of UK women under the age of 40 have experienced unwanted slapping, choking, gagging or spitting during consensual sex, research for BBC Radio 5 Live suggests.

    Of the women who had experienced any of these acts, wanted or otherwise, 20% said they had been left upset or frightened.
