Borgue Primary has been closed due to extremely high winds, a power cut and door safety, Dumfries and Galloway Council has said.
It is due to reopen at 9am tomorrow.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of snow and ice in south-west Scotland.
From the early hours of tomorrow, snow accumulations are likely to mount up on hills.
There will be smaller accumulations at lower levels, away from immediate coasts. Ice will be an additional hazard on untreated surfaces.
They warned that there may be travel disruption.
A component found near a Scottish Borders wind farm did not fall from its turbine, investigations have revealed.
EDF Energy Renewables shut down its Longpark site near Stow this week after the discovery of the three-metre piece of fibreglass.
However, it has now emerged that the "spoiler" was being stored at ground level.
Maintenance work was being carried out and a number of them had been detached.
The Whitesands has been opened to traffic following flooding this morning, according to Police Scotland.
They are warning that further flooding may occur later this afternoon and more road closures are expected at around 5pm.
The car parks will remain closed.

Scottish Power say they hope to have them back on by mid afternoon or early evening.
The areas affected include Kirkcudbright, Castle Douglas, Newton Stewart and Portpatrick.

A number of tools have been stolen during a series of thefts from the Eaglesfield area.
They were taken from vans which were parked and unattended outside their owners' homes on Tuesday and Wednesday.
A number of similar thefts have occurred across Dumfries and Galloway.
Police have urged anyone who spots any suspicious activity to report it immediately.
