Born in the Borders brewery and visitor centre, its owner John Henderson and Kingsmuir House in Peebles are all in the running for a regional Scottish Thistle Award.
In neighbouring Dumfries and Galloway, the Laggan Outdoor Activity Centre, Galloway Activity Centre, and Forestry Commission Scotland's Galloway Forest Park are also in the running for their region's awards.
The winners of the tourism honours will be announced later this year.
In Dumfries and Galloway rugby, there's a mix of league and cup action this weekend.
In the quarter finals of the West Regional Shield, Annan take on Kilmarnock, while Stewartry travel to Glasgow Academicals. And in the West Regional Bowl, Moffat have a quarter-final tie against Millbrae.
In National League Division Three, second-placed Dumfries Saints will be targeting their fourth consecutive win when they take on RHC at Park Farm.
In the regional leagues, Newton Stewart, play host to Garnock in West One, while in West Three, Wigtownshire entertain bottom side Clydesdale. In East Division Two, Langholm are away to Trinity Academicals.
Borders-born Keith Dalgleish will attempt to saddle the first Scottish-trained winner of the William Hill Ayr Gold Cup since Roman Warrior way back in 1975.
He sends out Sound Advice in the showpiece race tomorrow.
"He's in good form at home," he said. "I'm just hoping the trip won't be too sharp for him.
"I think you need a horse that stays a bit further than six furlongs. He's done well this year and is going into the race in good form."

A group of charity cyclists are back in the saddle on Sunday - riding over one hundred miles in a day, to raise funds for Shelter Scotland.
Fifty people are taking part in the Border Loop Cycle Challenge - double last year's number.
It starts and finishes in Kelso - with the estimated nine hour route taking in Duns, Eyemouth, Norham and Coldstream - and an ascent of around 2,000 metres. Last year's event raised £10,000 for the homeless charity.

A 34-year-old man has been reported to the procurator fiscal for drug supply offences.
Drugs were found after a man was stopped and searched in Whitesands, Dumfries, earlier today.
A £1.5m plan to bring a large empty building in Annan back into use makes the front page of today's Annandale Observer.

A Borders football side's scored a winner after turning to the internet in a bid to move home.
Border Amateur side Linton Hotspur, which boasts more than 100 players throughout the age-groups, set up a crowdfunding page to help transform a field on the edge of West Linton into their permanent home.
The club secured a 99-year lease for the land but they needed funds to move their changing facilities, install infrastructure and create an entrance.
They launched their campaign last month, hoping to raise £7,500 but by last week's final whistle they had raised £10,735.
Stranraer have an opportunity to leapfrog visitors Albion Rovers in their League One clash at Stair Park.
But Boss Brian Reid expects a tough encounter.
"Every game is difficult it doesn't matter who you are playing," he said.
"You underestimate any team at your peril so we are expecting a tough game and one that we need to make sure we prepare properly for.
"Hopefully we can get a good result."

A horsebox full of humanitarian aid for refugees will leave from Peebles tomorrow.
A group of local businesswomen - Joy Espie, Sara McIver and Tracey Owens, issued a plea for donations just over a month ago to help people who are stranded around the French port of Calais.
They have now gathered enough clothing, medical items, blankets, sleeping bags and tents to fill the entire 6.5 tonne horsebox. A crowdfunding page has also raised £1,800 which will be used to buy additional eco-tents.
Galashiels is hosting this year's Doors Open Day in the Borders tomorrow.
Nineteen buildings in the town are throwing open their doors on Saturday in an event jointly organised by Energise Galashiels and Scottish Borders Council.

Aspiring performance poets will take to the stage in Dumfries this evening at an event to mark the first anniversary of the Independence Referendum.
The winner of the so-called "poetry slam" will go on to represent the region at the Scottish championships in Glasgow.
