    Responding to complaints regarding the crowds and confirming the cancellation of a planned tightrope walk, a spokeswoman for Roald Dahl's City of the Unexpected said:

    "It is fantastic that so many people have come out to enjoy Roald Dahl’s City of the Unexpected, which is taking place in locations all around Cardiff this afternoon.

    "It is disappointing that due to the sheer volume of the crowd it was necessary to cancel the tightrope walk.

    "We encourage people to explore the city to find the many wonderful and unexpected things that are taking place. 

    "All necessary precautions are being taken to ensure crowd safety and we encourage people to follow us on social media for any further updates."
