Events at the Senedd came to a close with the national anthem, Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau.
"It's been a good ride," said captain Alun Wyn Jones.
"All the faces looking back at us now, it's who we represent on the park and we couldn't be more proud," he added.
He described Saturday's atmosphere as "unbelievable" and turning to the World Cup later this year, said: "I've got a dream still to fulfil."
First Minister Mark Drakeford said someone told him after the game if he had the power to make someone an honorary citizen of Wales "you know who you should use it for".
Describing Warren Gatland's achievement of three Grand Slams, he said "We have never seen it before, we may never see it again".
And referring to press stories that Alun Wyn Jones should be First Minister, he said: "I just want you to know, when your time comes, I'll support you."
"You have a group of players that will run through a brick wall for you," Warren Gatland said referring to the players.
Turning to to Saturday's match and the roof row, he added: "It wouldn't have mattered if it was open or closed, we would have won."
He said he will have a couple of weeks off, adding: "We will go there (to the World Cup) with confidence and belief we can have a great World Cup."
Warren Gatland and his captain Alun Wyn Jones have led Wales to glory.
Centre Jonathan Davies said with a lot of hard work over the summer, a World Cup could be possible.
Catrin Heledd asked Alun Wyn Jones if he has another Grand Slam in him.. The response? "Never say never". Watch this space.

"He arrived with a Grand Slam and he will leave with one," Alun Wyn Jones said, when asked about his coach's achievements.
Warren Gatland led Wales to a Grand Slam in 2008, in his first year in charge, had another in 2012 and signs off with one in 2019.
The players arrive on stage to loud cheers.
Deputy Presiding Officer of the National Assembly for Wales, Ann Jones,welcomed them by saying: "What a championship, what a squad and what amazing fans."

Craig and Jade brought their children Hannah and Ffion from Newport.
"I reckon that we're 100% going to be in the World Cup final, it's just a case of who we'll be playing," Craig said.
Hayley and Laura brought children Seb, Reuben, Louis and Alfie from St Mellons to enjoy the celebrations.
"Loved every second of the Grand Slam," said Hayley.
"It's been a while but the atmosphere on Saturday was bumpin'. The whole aura of Cardiff was amazing."
