  2. Mercedes F1 to help make breathing aidpublished at 07:06 British Summer Time 30 March 2020

A breathing aid which can help keep coronavirus patients out of intensive care has been created in under a week.

University College London engineers worked with clinicians at UCL Hospital and Mercedes Formula One to build the device, which delivers oxygen to the lungs without needing a ventilator.

Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) devices are already used in hospitals but are in short supply.

China and Italy used them to help Covid-19 patients.

The National Eisteddfod, set to take place in Ceredigion this year, has been postponed until 2021.

The annual festival has joined a growing list of events which have been called off this year due to coronavirus.

The National Eisteddfod said the aim was to move the 2021 Llŷn and Eifionydd event to 2022 and then hold the 2023 festival in Rhondda Cynon Taff.

The Llŷn and Eifionydd National Eisteddfod proclamation festival will be postponed for the time being

Eisteddfod court president and chair of the management board, Ashok Ahir, said: "Naturally, our supporters will be disappointed, but I am sure everyone will agree that this is the right and sensible decision for us to take."

  5. 'Domestic abuse pandemic likely due to shutdown'published at 06:36 British Summer Time 30 March 2020

The coronavirus outbreak will lead to a "domestic abuse pandemic" as vulnerable people spend all day with their abuser during the UK's lockdown, campaigners have warned.

Strict government rules to stay home to stop Covid-19 spreading is "likely" to cause a spike in domestic abuse cases, both survivors and experts claim.

Film star Michael Sheen is fronting an appeal for authorities to have a plan to deal with the "dramatic rise".

The Welsh Government has promised help.
