    The Welsh Ambulance Service says it was called at about 10:08 GMT this morning to reports of an incident near the A4085 between Nantmor and Tan-Lan in Gwynedd.

    “We sent an operations manager, two emergency ambulances and two Cymru High Acuity Response Units to the scene where we were supported by the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service in two Wales Air Ambulance charity helicopters," it said.

    Here’s a timeline of what we know so far about the missing teenagers, who are believed to have been camping in the Eryri area, also known as Snowdonia, in north Wales:

    Sunday morning – The teenagers are reported missing.

    In a now-deleted post on X, formerly Twitter, North Wales Police said it had “concerns” for four young males – Jevon Hirst, Harvey Owen, Wilf Henderson and Hugo Morris.

    The force appealed for anyone who'd seen them, or their car - a silver Ford Fiesta, registration HY14 GVO - to get in contact.

    Sunday, 12:00 GMT – Harvey Owen’s phone was last used around lunchtime on Sunday, his mother, Crystal Owen, told the BBC. She said her son left home on Saturday night.

    Sunday, 15:35 – Someone was seen “dragging a tent from high level ground to a car parked on a hill”, Crystal told the BBC.

    A witness wrote to her on social media that the person was seen in the Felinheli area, almost 25 miles (40 km) from Porthmadog.

    Speaking to the BBC on Tuesday morning, Crystal said she was on her way to north Wales to help with the search.

    Tuesday, 03:00 – The coastguard said its team responded to a request for assistance from North Wales with a search in the Porthmadog area shortly before 03:00 on Tuesday. It said a helicopter from Caernarfon returned to base “with nothing found”.

    Tuesday, 12:00 – Police say that following information from a member of the public, they had found the vehicle the teenagers were travelling in.

    North Wales Police have issued a statement in the last few minutes.

    It says that due to a member of the public giving them information, they have now located the car - the missing silver Fiesta they were looking for that belonged to one of the group.

    They say they are at the scene currently and they are keeping the families of all of those who’ve been reported missing informed of any developments.

    Just as we heard the car has been found, a police cordon was set up near the village of Garreg.

    It's on the A4085, about three miles from Penrhyndeudraeth, near Porthmadog.

    The air ambulance is believed to have landed a few miles from the cordon.

    The road has been closed between Garreg and Pont Aberglaslyn.

    We've just had confirmation that the car the teenagers were travelling in has been found.

    North Wales Police say it follows information from a member of the public.

    "Police officers and colleagues from other emergency services are currently at the location and the families of those involved have been kept updated," say the police in a statement.

    Liz Saville Roberts, Plaid Cymru MP for Dwyfor Meirionnydd, says the situation is "very worrying".

    "My immediate thoughts are with their family and friends who will be extremely concerned about their welfare," she wrote on X, external, formerly known as Twitter.

    Ms Saville Robert's constituency is located in north-west Wales and covers both Porthmadog and Harlech.

    She says her office is being kept updated on any developments.

    It is believed the teenagers have been camping in the Eryri area of north Wales, a remote part of the country.

    Eryri National Park, also known as Snowdonia, is Wales’ largest national park, covering a total of 823 sq miles (1,324 sq km).

    The park is home to a number of mountain ranges, as well as an extensive network of trails, as well as lakes and peaks.

    The coastguard says the team responded to a request for assistance from North Wales Police with a search in the Porthmadog area shortly before 03:00 GMT this morning.

    In a statement, it said: "The Coastguard helicopter from Caernarfon was sent and completed an extensive search of an area, before returning to base with nothing found."

    A potential challenge in the search effort could be weather conditions in the area.

    On Monday, the area was cloudy with showers and strong winds – particularly on higher and more exposed routes – according to the Met Office mountains forecast., external

    Today, it says there is poor visibility in the area, which could be significantly less than 50m (164ft) in all directions.

    A helicopter is currently circling the Tremadog area, near Cnicht mountain in Eryri.

    Cnicht, which is about seven miles away from Porthmadog, forms part of the Moelwynion mountain range.

    More now from Harvey's mum, Crystal Owen.

    She tells the BBC she didn't know he was going on a camping trip - she thought he was going to stay at friend’s grandfather’s house.

    She says Harvey is 17, has three siblings and is a student at Shrewsbury College, where he's doing A-Levels.

    He's friends with the other three teens he was travelling with.

    Ms Owen says Harvey left home on Saturday night, and she believes the last time he used his phone was around lunchtime on Sunday.

    She says her son hasn’t logged on to Whatsapp, which is unusual.

    “I am frantically worried, we haven’t slept a wink, we are desperate to chase any lead we can," she says.

    "We didn’t know he was going camping, if I’d have known I wouldn’t have let him due to the winter weather conditions.

    "We think the last time their phones were tracked was in Porthmadog at around 12pm. We've been on the phone to the police almost non-stop.

    "They are all sensitive, intelligent lads and we are just hoping they parked up, got lost and are OK.”

    Chris Lloyd, chairman of the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team, says teams spent yesterday searching car parks in the area looking for the teens’ vehicle.

    He says they were called out by North Wales Police early on Monday afternoon.

    "We deployed two or three teams to drive around all the carparks. We cannot find the car.

    "We are still actively looking for it and are continuing to search. We don't have specific area where to search,” he adds.

    The mum of one of the teenagers says she's on her way to north Wales to help with the search.

    Crystal Owen, the mother of Harvey Owen, wants to follow up a lead that she says was tweeted to them earlier.

    She says: "A person has reported seeing someone dragging a tent from high level ground to a car parked on a hill at about 15:35 GMT on Sunday afternoon."

    The witness believes the person was seen in the Felinheli area, almost 25 miles away from Porthmadog.

    The teenagers are believed to have been travelling in the Porthmadog and Harlech areas of Gwynedd in north Wales.

    Harlech sits inside the Eryri National Park, also known as Snowdonia, while Porthmadog falls just outside.

    But rescue teams say there's no "specific area" being searched.
