    Former Lib Dem AM and candidate for the Cwmbwrla ward on Swansea council, Peter Black, says his party will be "lucky to hold on" to what they've got in Swansea.

    He says the Conservative vote in the city looks very high.

    The Liberal Democrats currently hold 12 seats out of 72 in Swansea, the Conservatives four.

    Meanwhile, Plaid Cymru sources have told our reporter at the count, Rhys Williams, that they're confident they can win at least three seats in Swansea. They had none in the last council.

    On the results that have come in so far, Prof Roger Scully from Cardiff University's Wales Governance Centre says: "We don't yet have clear general patterns but I think there's enough in England and Wales to say it’s clearly a bad night for Labour.

    "We don't know if it’s a bad night or a very bad night."
