    Dallas police issued this photograph of a suspect in the shootings. They say a man has now handed himself in to officers.

  3. Suspects arrested after shootout

    Police have said one suspect was involved in a "shootout" with Dallas SWAT officers and is now in custody. Another "person of interest" has turned has turned himself in, they added. A "suspicious package" was discovered near the suspect's location. The package is being secured by a police bomb squad, the force added. 

  4. Several police officers 'critical'

    Several more police officers were injured in the shooting, Chief Brown said, some of them critically.  

    The shootings were at a demonstration being held following the fatal shootings of Philando Castile in Minnesota and Alton Sterling in Louisiana.

    Four Dallas police officers have been shot dead by snipers during protests against the shooting of black men by police, authorities in the US city say.
