    The BBC's Bashkas Jugsooda'ay in Garissa, which is about 150km (90 miles) from the Somali border, says gunfire can still be heard.

    A huge crowd has gathered outside the campus and the security forces are trying to stop people searching for friends and relatives from getting inside.

    Our correspondent says most other residents are staying indoors and businesses are shut.

    At dawn this morning in north-eastern Kenya, masked gunmen stormed a university in Garissa, killing at least two security guards and injuring about 30 people. Troops have surrounded Garissa University College and are currently engaging the attackers.
