Police in Kenya's capital, Nairobi, have fired tear gas into a crowd of opposition supporters who were marching to demand the dissolution of the country's electoral commission ahead of next year's election, Reuters news agency reports.
Main opposition leader Raila Odinga and other leading politicians had demanded the disbandment of the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) over the weekend and said they would storm its offices to eject its commissioners.
Mr Odinga rejected the 2013 election result that brought President Uhuru Kenyatta into power, alleging massive fraud.
The campaign for people not to show footage of Papa Wemba collapsing live on stage is one of the most shared posts on Facebook.
The Rumours in Adidjan group led the campaign, saying videos and photos of him collapsing should not be shown out of respect for his family.
It added:
Quote MessageWe believe that in these kinds of situations, we have to help the family grieve by publishing the best memories of the artist.
Quote MessageIt’s a real shame that certain people are prepared to show bad faith in order to seek attention."
Haiti-born hip-hop star Wyclef Jean had added his voice to growing list of music stars who have paid tribute to Papa Wemba.
In a Facebook post, he said:
Quote MessagePapa Wemba one of Africa's biggest artist. Rest in peace.

The West African gold company is also pressing ahead with efforts to extend the life of the mine through more exploration and it reports that results from recent drilling are positive, with indications of additional reserves and resources within and below the existing open pits.
Randgold has also launched a first golf academy for children in Ivory Coast – a joint initiative between the Ivorian sport promotion company Team STL and Randgold.

Malaria could be wiped out from six African states by 2020, the World Health Organization has said in a report, external published to mark World Malaria Day.
The six include South Africa, where the number of cases have fallen from 64,000 in 2000 to 11,700 in 2014.

Mr Zuma, the first South African head of state to visit Iran since international sanctions imposed on it were lifted, signed eight deals with his Iranian hosts, ranging from the energy sector to banking insurance.
"The challenge is to dramatically expand trade volumes," AFP news agency quotes him as saying.
