Tanzanian police say they've banned some political rallies due to security concerns.

The police allege opposition parties want to use the rallies to incite civil disobedience.

Two opposition parties, Chadema and ACT-Maendeleo wanted to hold countrywide rallies in protest of President John Magufuli's leadership style.

Two of the issues that these parties wanted to condemn are the ban on live television coverage of parliamentary proceedings and the rising in the cost of living for the average Tanzanian.
