  1. A long list of insultspublished at 01:50 British Summer Time 12 June 2018

Remember how Mr Trump and Mr Kim hated each other, trading insults over months? Here’s a best of:

    • Trump about Kim: “There will be fire and fury." "Rocket man is on a suicide mission." "Kim Jong-un is obviously a madman."
    • Pyongyang about Trump: "A guy bereft of reason." "A mentally deranged dotard" and "old lunatic".

Will they be more polite face-to-face?

  3. Who has the most nukes?published at 01:46 British Summer Time 12 June 2018

Almost all the world’s nuclear warheads – roughly 93% - are owned by the US and Russia. They each have around 4,000 in their military stockpiles, according to the Federation of American Scientists. It estimates France has around 300 warheads, followed by China with 270. The UK has 215 and North Korea? FAS says it might have produced 20 warheads. We don't know for sure, which is one of the problems.

  4. It's all about the nukespublished at 01:45 British Summer Time 12 June 2018

North Korea started a nuclear programme in the 1950s with Soviet support. It then started working on missiles in earnest in the 1970s. In 2003 it pulls out of the non-proliferation treaty and three years later claims its first successful test of a nuclear weapon. In 2016, Pyongyang said it had produced a hydrogen bomb and to have made warheads small enough to fit on a rocket.

  14. A shorter meeting that thoughtpublished at 01:33 British Summer Time 12 June 2018

"When news came out that Mr Kim would leave by 2pm, everyone was surprised," says the BBC's Rupert Wingfield-Hayes.
