  4. 'No deal situation is bad'published at 06:46 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2019

North Korea expert Andray Abrahamian tells the BBC what he thinks of the fact that there is now no deal.

"It’s bad. The window is small before the next election cycle in the US and momentum is hard to build between these two countries. But this whole process has been so unconventional thus far, who knows what will come next."

  8. Living with a nuclear North Koreapublished at 06:37 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2019

While we wait to hear what kind of deal has been reached, and whether it includes the denuclearisation of North Korean, here's one point of view increasingly being voiced among North Korea watchers. Is it time to accept that North Korea has nuclear weapons, will not give them up, and that we need to just carry on building diplomacy with them? Have attempts to isolate and coerce them to give up their weapons failed and we just now have to move forward with a nuclear North Korea as a reality?

  10. Is Yongbyon still on the cards?published at 08:45

The talks between the two leaders have come to a premature end - now we wait to see what kind of deal (if any) they may have struck. Some believed that the US would press for North Korea's Yongbyon nuclear reactor to be shut down. The BBC's Laura Bicker earlier explained its significance. Whether they even got far enough to discuss this is not clear.

  18. A shift in moodpublished at 06:20 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2019

The mood has shifted in the course of the last few hours, with some uncertainty now over whether the US and North Korea will emerge with a deal.

Earlier Mr Trump seemed optimistic, telling reporters: “No matter what happens we’ll ultimately have a deal that’s really good for Chairman Kim and his country... That’s where it’s all leading. It doesn’t mean we’re doing it in one day, in one meeting... I really believe with this great leadership North Korea... I really believe it’s going to be very successful.”

  19. Both leaders still in placepublished at 06:20 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2019

All the vehicles are in place but as yet we've seen no sign of the two leaders. In fact Mr Kim's security motorcyclists have just turned off their engines. A good pollution control measure, of course. But could it mean they've had word it'll take a while longer yet?
