At the end of the sitting yesterday he urged his supporters to get behind the new leader.

    BBC Radio Guernsey

Deputy Jan Kuttelwascher has been cautioned for remarks he made to islanders campaigning for Guernsey to allow assisted dying last month.

Sarah Griffith lodged a complaint under the Code of Conduct for Members of the States of Deliberation, external.

    Jan Kuttelwascher

Ms Griffith complained that the comments Deputy Kuttelwascher made on the 16 May on the steps of the Royal Court House had breached sections 8 and 9 of the Code, both of which relate to the "Member's Conduct".

Mr Kuttelwascher said to assisted dying campaigners "there's a number of people I'd like to assist in dying, but they'd object" prompting a backlash from some States members.

He later issued an apology on the final day of the debate.

An investigation panel met with Ms Griffith and Deputy Kuttelwascher and agreed both sections of the code had been breached.

However, it decided the breach of conduct was of a "minor nature" and cautioned Deputy Kuttelwascher. He accepted the caution and no further action will take place.

    BBC News Online

Yesterday saw change in all but one of Jersey's Council of Ministers as States members voted on the make up of the new government.

Voting continues today to decide the heads of scrutiny panels and other positions.

But now the dust has settled, who will be representing the various departments in Jersey's government?

    • Chief Minister: Senator John Le Fondre
    • Minister for External Relations: Senator Ian Gorst
    • Treasury and Resources Minister: Deputy Susie Pinel
    • Minister for Education: Senator Tracey Vallois
    • Minister for Health and Social Services: Deputy Richard Renouf
    • Minister for Social Security: Deputy Judy Martin
    • Minister for Infrastructure: Deputy Kevin Lewis
    • Minister for the Environment: Deputy John Young
    • Minister for Economic Development: Senator Lyndon Farnham
    • Minister for Housing: Senator Sam Mezec
    • Home Affairs Minister: Constable Len Norman

So it's all change on the Council of Minister's bench aside from Senator Lyndon Farnham, who returns to his role at economic development.
