  1. Plans put forward for loan to redevelop St Martin

    BBC Radio Jersey

The Parish of St Martin will be loaned up to £2.6m to redevelop the old primary school, if States members agree to plans put forward by the Treasury Minister.

The Parish wants to convert the school into a supermarket, pharmacy and doctor's surgery.

It's hoped the "essential amenities" would reduce travel times for parishioners - particularly the elderly.

If approved, the money - plus 4.5% interest - will be paid back over 20 years.
