    State news agency IRNA is now reporting that one of four attackers at the parliament building has been arrested.

    It said four men opened fire with AK-47 rifles and a pistol, injuring three guards inside.

    "A member of the Iranian Parliament's Foreign Policy and National Security Commission confirmed that a gunman was arrested," IRNA said.

    One attacker has been killed and another arrested by police at Imam Khomeini shrine, according to an Iranian news website.

    "Law enforcement forces killed one of the attackers, and arrested a woman who was wounded," iribnwes.ir quoted an informed source at Imam Khoemini's shrine as saying.

    "Four pilgrims have been wounded, and a service staff member has been martyred."

    The police are currently in pursuit of the last attacker, who exited the shrine on Alameh Boulevard. Law enforcement is trying to neutralise the attacker's suicide vest, the report said.

    The website also reported that the "terrorists" entered the shrine through the west entrance of the shrine, which is located near Tehran.

    Conflicting reports put the number of gunmen at the parliament building at either three or four.

    An MP had earlier said there were three attackers, armed with rifles and a pistol.

    "Seven or eight people were injured during the attack by four attackers," Iran's rolling news channel IRINN reports. Earlier reports said a security guard had been killed in the attack.

    An MP has told the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) that three gunmen involved in the Iranian parliament attack are still in the building, while one has been detained. MP Seyyed Hossein Naqavi-Hosseini said the attackers were in MPs' offices.

    The AFP news agency, citing the local IRNA outlet, says an armed man entered the mausoleum and opened fire with a gun, before detonating a suicide vest.

    Iran's ISNA news agency is now reporting that a suicide bomber blew himself up at the mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini, several kilometres to the south of parliament.

    Several people are reported injured, though it is not clear if any civilians were killed in the blast.
