  1. Fisher: A star all on my ownpublished at 22:32 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December 2016

That draws to a close our coverage following the death of the much-loved Carrie Fisher.

And, given her love of the written word, it seems appropriate to leave the last word on her extraordinary life in her very capable hands. This is what she thought would happen when she signed up as princess a "goofy little science-fiction film".

    Quote Message

I'll go hang out with a bunch of robots for a few months and then return to my life and try to figure out what I want to do when I grow up. But then Star Wars, this goofy, little three-month hang-out with robots did something unexpected. It exploded across the firmament of pop culture, taking all of us along with it. It tricked me into becoming a star all on my own.

Fans have been sharing memories of meeting their idol with the BBC's Rozina Sini.

John, from London, was working in a bookshop when he met the actress.

"She has inspired me by teaching me that just because you're a little broken or a little different you can still be an inspiration and shine like she did. She was honest about her health issues and was just herself," he recalls.

"She taught me to not feel embarrassed or a lesser person just because you sometimes struggle to get through the day. Her death has hit me hard but it also makes me feel so proud to have been like her, different."

Actor Warwick Davis, who played an Ewok in Return of the Jedi aged 11, remembers Fisher's concern that he might overheat in his costume.

    Quote Message

I have very fond memories of actually shooting that scene because Carrie was particularly concerned about me being in this hot, furry Ewok costume because whenever I took the head off and I looked a little bit hot and flustered, she'd actually be there - standing by - with milk and cookies to revive me."

Hollywood journalist Jeanie Wolf remembers her friend and considers what would have been her greatest source of pride:

    Quote Message

I think that she would say that she had a very rocky, but very eventful life. And she loved the drama. She loved the attention. Remember she showed up at the Star Wars premiere with her dog - and her dog was at her side. She understood herself very well and I think she was proud that she got things together and created some wonderful moments.
