    Two people have been killed during unrest in the Chicago suburb of Cicero as protests continued over the death of George Floyd, says a town official.

    Spokesman Ray Hanania said 60 people were arrested but did not provide additional information about those killed or the circumstances of their deaths.

    The Illinois State Police and Cook County Sheriff’s Office were called in to help local police as businesses were broken into and items stolen.

    The Cicero Police Department has urged residents to stay at home.

    US President Trump paused to hold up a Bible in front of the historic St John's Church, just moments after armed soldiers chased out peaceful protesters from the area - clearing the way forward for him.

    But the episcopal bishop of Washington DC accused Trump of using the church as a prop.

    "I am outraged...[that] they could use one of our churches as a prop, holding a Bible... one that declares that God is love when everything [Trump] has said and done is to enflame violence," the Right Rev Mariann Budde told the Washington Post newspaper.

    Liverpool players took a knee around the centre circle during a training session at Anfield on Monday, with many then posting the picture on social media with the caption "Unity is strength. #BlackLivesMatter".

    Manchester United players Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford also added their voices to worldwide protests against racism.

    France midfielder Pogba said in a passionate Instagram post that he felt "felt anger, pity, hatred, indignation, pain and sadness".

    England forward Rashford said he had been "trying to process what is going on in the world".

    In Germany's Bundesliga, Jadon Sancho and Achraf Hakimi of Borussia Dortmund, Weston McKennie of Schalke, and Marcus Thuram of Borussia Monchengladbach made on-field protests at the weekend.

    Tennis stars Serena Williams, Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka have also spoken out, while basketball legend Michael Jordan said he was "deeply saddened, truly pained and plain angry".

    Four police officers in St Louis have been struck by gunfire, the city's metropolitan police department says.

    "All have been transported to an area hospital. All are conscious and breathing. Their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening," it added on Twitter.

    "Officers are still taking gunfire downtown and we will share more info as it available."

    In Buffalo, in New York state, two police officers were hit by a vehicle when protests turned violent on Monday evening.

    The New York State Police said one of its officers had "serious but non-life threatening injuries". It's thought the other officer, from the local force, is in a stable condition.

    Police in Seattle's Capitol Hill district have declared a riot.

    Seattle Police Department said the crowd had thrown "rocks, bottles and fireworks at officers" and were attempting to breach barricades.

    On social media, many people said they had heard numerous bangs and that there was "tear gas everywhere".

    San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Clara, Walnut Creek, Oakland and other cities in California's Bay Area are under curfew tonight.

    The areas have seen fresh violence and vandalism following protests over the death of George Floyd.

    Police in Walnut Creek used tear gas against the protesters as they gathered ahead of the 8pm curfew. During the protest, a woman was shot by someone in a car who sped away.

    One county reported 100 arrests as people broke the curfew to gather in protest.

    A journalist with the Washington Post has rejected claims by the White House that protesters in Washington DC were given three verbal warnings by police before tear gas was released.

    Rebecca Tan said in a tweet , externalthat she was "standing at the metal barriers with rows of other protesters behind... and did not hear a single warning".

    Tan added that she could make out that police were "saying something...[but] the words were inaudible... hard to imagine that the hundreds of [chanting] protesters heard the warnings".

    A peaceful march through LA's Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards was marred by looting as groups broke off and targeted stores in nearby areas.

    Another peaceful demonstration in Van Nuys also ended in reports of looting and arrests.

    The city also saw demonstrations in Hollywood, West Hollywood and downtown LA.

    The protests continued in the city despite a 6pm curfew, and businesses in some parts have been boarded up, bracing for another night of looting.

    LA saw violence and theft through the weekend as groups burnt police cars, confronted officers and ransacked stores.

    New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio says protests have been "overwhelmingly peaceful" - but he warned that "we won't allow" people to steal or cause damage.

    The mayor said it was "pretty calm" at the Barclays Center, an indoor arena in Brooklyn, and that he was heading to Midtown in Manhattan - where a number of stores were looted earlier.

    People in the New York borough of Brooklyn continued to march, despite a city-wide curfew that kicked in at 23:00 - an hour ago.

    According to journalist for the Independent Richard Hall, there were at least two peaceful marches in Brooklyn 20 minutes after the curfew began.

    The curfew is in place until 05:00 on Tuesday, and will resume at 20:00.
